Clarity before
commitment.

A strong partnership begins with honest expectations. Here are the questions carriers ask most often.

01Who does STARR serve?+

STARR is designed for owner-operators and small motor carriers seeking professional dispatch support, clear communication, and a long-term business partnership.

02Does STARR offer help without full dispatch service?+

Yes. Paperwork Assistance is available for owner-operators and small fleets that handle their own dispatching but want help organizing carrier packets, broker packets, rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, equipment records, and other administrative files. It does not include bookkeeping, taxes, payroll, legal advice, accounting, or regulatory compliance consulting.

03What equipment do you support?+

At launch, STARR is focused on Dry Van, Reefer, Tanker, and Step Deck/Flatbed carriers. Keeping our service scope intentional allows us to build equipment-specific processes, stronger market knowledge, and more dependable support.

04Where do you provide service?+

STARR is based in Cleveland, Ohio and supports qualified carrier operations across the United States, subject to each carrier’s authority, insurance, equipment, lanes, and operating preferences.

05How much does dispatch service cost?+

STARR's launch dispatch fee is 8% of qualifying gross transportation revenue earned on loads dispatched through STARR. If STARR dispatches no qualifying revenue during the billing period, there is no percentage dispatch fee for that period. The final agreement defines which transportation compensation is included and which pass-through reimbursements are excluded.

06Do you guarantee rates or revenue?+

No. Freight markets change, and honest dispatch support should never promise a particular rate, load, or revenue level. We provide research, negotiation, planning, and communication support.

07Do I have input on which loads are booked?+

Always. STARR will never book or accept a load without discussing it with the carrier first. We present the load details, answer questions, and receive the carrier’s approval before moving forward. You always have a voice in what freight you carry, and the final decision to accept or decline a load belongs to you.

08What happens after I apply?+

We review your basic partnership request first. If there appears to be a fit, STARR contacts you for a conversation before requesting agreements or confidential documents through a secure process.

09What documents are normally needed after approval?+

Approved Carrier Partners are typically asked to provide their Operating Authority, Certificate of Insurance, and completed W-9 through secure onboarding. The W-9 is the carrier’s own business form used in carrier and broker packets; STARR only helps organize or transmit it and does not prepare taxes, provide accounting, or complete the form on the carrier’s behalf. Additional information may be requested based on the carrier’s equipment and operation.

10What are STARR’s business hours?+

Our public office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern. Internal planning may occur outside those hours, but it does not create a promise of routine availability. Urgent support remains available outside office hours for STARR carriers currently under an active load.

11Why don’t you collect documents on the public form?+

Operating authority, insurance, CDL records, payment information, and other confidential documents require protected handling. The public request intentionally collects only introductory business information.

12What is the Weekly Business Review?+

It is a structured look at completed loads, gross revenue, loaded and deadhead miles, rate per mile, accessorial earnings, market observations, challenges, and next-week strategy.

13How does STARR’s weekly billing cycle work?+

STARR organizes dispatch activity from Saturday through Wednesday, reconciles and reviews the week on Thursday, and uses Friday as the regular payment day. The 8% fee becomes payable after the carrier receives the related broker or shipper payment. An eligible payment received after Thursday reconciliation closes rolls into the next Friday cycle, and duplicate protection prevents the same item from being billed twice.

14Is STARR a broker or motor carrier?+

STARR provides dispatch and administrative support to independent motor carriers. The carrier retains its operating authority, responsibility, and final business decisions.

15Is STARR Academy open?+

The complete English-language course is currently open for private owner testing. Public enrollment and the $350 tuition payment process will open after the full student journey passes testing. The complete Spanish-language course is still being prepared.
